Hello and welcome to Project Connect! My name is Roxanna and I’m a 16 year old girl living in the Bay Area who wants to make a change. I applied to make a club at my school, but was rejected due to the similarity to the other clubs, as my school has an amazing, wide array of clubs. However, I knew that many people could use the little help I could give. Thus, Project Connect was born. The Christmas of 2015, I asked for $200 to kick start PC. I used this money to fund my first project, making care packages for a local shelter for teens, StandUp for Kids. PC is an opportunity for people who think they’re unable to make a significant change in their community, and allows them to connect with homeless and less fortunate people who deserve their help. Many times, we fail to see how fortunate we are and how much is available to us. PC’s goal is to not only shed light on an often overlooked or neglected aspect of our lives and offer opportunities to change someone’s life, but to meet new people and brighten their day. The main purpose for Project Connect is to make a significant difference in the Bay Area, and change someone’s day, or even week, into one with basic necessities. We want to reach out to less fortunate families, children and adults and give them our assistance to make their day brighter. There are currently 6,436 homeless people in the Bay Area. California holds 20% of the nation’s homeless kids. These numbers are extremely high, and through this organization, we will offer opportunities to change someone’s life and shed light on this topic through various projects. Hi I'm Roxanna! I created PC to give my friends and I a way to really make a difference in people's lives. One of my passions is giving back - I am a volunteer at Sunday Friends where I help low income families, and also tutor kids in elementary and middle school. I also enjoy playing tennis, traveling and meeting new people.
Vice President: Noa
I'm Noa! I spend my summers tutoring children with disabilities, where I was able to teach a 5th grader addition. During the school year, I tutor and mentor 9th graders who are falling behind. Helping others has always been a passion of mine. In my free time, I love to dance, and meet new people.
Coordinater: Rosalina
Hey I'm Rosalina! I wanted to be a part of PC because it would give me a way to help others while I spend time with my friends. I also love to play water polo, eat and meet new people.
